Welcome to 8th grade honors English! I'm looking forward to experiencing the next ten months with you. As we look to your last year of middle school, be prepared for some challenging experiences, but also several opportunities for growth, learning, and fun. Our core literature this year will consist of classic and contemporary fiction, nonfiction, and poetry. We will be reading such works as The Diary of Anne Frank, Night, The Miracle Worker, Flowers for Algernon, and To Kill a Mockingbird. The literature will be the basis for discussion, analysis, writing, vocabulary development, and grammar instruction. All of our activities are aligned to California's Framework and Standards for Language Arts.

These are some pretty cool websites devoted to Poe, the father of modern day detective & horror stories. These sites have lots of information about parts of speech and sentence structure. Many of them offer fun quizzes so you can test yourself! Websites designed to answer your questions about MLA format.  California High School Exit ExamYou'll find resources to help you understand and study for the exit exam here. California Recommended Reading ListThis list allows you to search in many ways.
